Regardless, we’ll be comparing the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 to discover what each vehicle offers best.

The Silverado comes in with a starting price of $57,829*, which is close to the Sierra’s starting cost of $59,029*. However, the range of trims offered by both models does differ, with the Sierra having eight compared to the nine offerings on the Silverado.Â
The highest starting price for a trim for the Chevrolet truck is $90,429*, while the GMC option’s highest trim tier starts at $101,854*. With the trim tiers, the difference in cost is far more noticeable.Â
Power and Performance
The pickup trucks both use a 2.7-litre TurboMax engine as the standard option for their base trims. This engine has a performance of 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft, giving each vehicle a relatively high amount of performance for the standard tier.Â
Higher trim offerings start to differ, with the highest trims having a 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8 engine for the Silverado and a 3.0-litre Duramax Turbo Diesel engine as the standard for the Sierra. However, the 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8 is available for an additional $1,775*.Â
The Interior and Space
The interior cabins of both vehicles are comfortable, with both models featuring a 40/20/40 front bench seat. Additionally, both models come with under-seat storage for additional cargo space. The rear seat for the trucks is a 60/40 folding split that helps with storage and seating. The seating trims differ, with the Silverado having cloth material while the Sierra comes with a vinyl material for its seats.
Technology and Connectivity Features
When it comes to speakers, the two models are equal, with each one’s base trim having a six-speaker system. The standard infotainment system for the Silverado and Sierra is a 7-inch touchscreen. However, both models come with their brand’s own software, creating some differences in features and utility.Â
Exterior Design and Functionality
Both trucks are sleek, giving a bold design that fits their rugged performance. Both models use 17-inch wheels for their base trims; the Sierra only has painted Silver wheels while the Silverado has Ultra Silver painted steel, Bright Silver painted aluminum, and even 18-inch Bright Silver painted aluminum wheels. Higher-tier trims have more options available for wheels and other features.
