Notable Changes from the Previous Year
The carmaker included the Denali Ultimate in the lineup for the first time, which introduces features like an 18-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system. Also, GMC is offering the 3.0-litre Duramax Turbo Diesel engine for the Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels. Also, the lineup comes with four new colours, available for an extra cost.
Infotainment and Technology Features
The new Yukon XL has quite a few luxury features as standard, even for the entry-level trim. There’s a Premium GMC touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Google. The SLE also comes with a three-month subscription to SiriusXM. The Denali Ultimate has an additional 12.6-inch LCD mounted on the back of the front seats for the rear passengers.
Exterior Design
The entry-level trim comes with 18-inch wheels as standard; 20- and 22-inch wheels are available for upper models. LED taillamps, headlamps and fog lamps are standard across the lineup. GMC takes care of your privacy with deep-tinted and acoustic laminated glasses. There are also rain-sensing wipers for all models.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
The new Yukon XL lives up to its last name, as this model is one of the largest in class. It can seat up to nine passengers, with 144.7 cubic feet of cargo room with folded rear seats. The driver’s and passenger’s seats are heated and ventilated, starting with the SLT trim. The flagship model comes with full-grain leather seating surfaces.
Performance Features
The whole lineup comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption depends on the engine and ranges between 11.7 L / 100km and 16.8 L / 100km in urban areas and 9.04 L / 100km and 13.06 L / 100km on the highway.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
All of the GMC Yukon XL’s trims come packed with safety features and driving assists. Standard features include automatic emergency braking, electronic stability control (ESC), and trail sway control. Seven airbags are also standard for the entire lineup, keeping everyone safe. Other safety features include front pedestrian braking and park assists (front and rear).
