GM Canada Continues to Lead the Industry in the First Quarter

Oshawa, Ont. – Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 63,103 vehicles in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 3.3 per cent over Q1 2023 sales. GM Canada continues to lead total market share, accounting for 15 per cent of the Canadian market, amid strong sales across the industry.

“We set the pace in 2023 and we’re building on that momentum in 2024,” said Shane Peever, vice president of sales, service, and marketing. “GM Canada continued its sales leadership into the first quarter and there’s more to look forward to as we roll-out a diverse portfolio of electric and gas-powered vehicles in the year ahead.”

2024 Q1 Total Sales Highlights:

  • Small SUVs saw an increase of 65.9 per cent driven by Chevrolet Trax, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Envista, and Buick Encore GX over Q1 2023
  • Chevrolet Blazer sales rose 104.1 per cent over Q1 2023
  • Buick Envision sales rose 33.4 per cent over Q1 2023
  • GMC Terrain sales rose 59.4 per cent over Q1 2023
  • Cadillac LYRIQ sales rose 519.2 per cent over Q1 2023
